Visiting all of the castles and palaces surrounding Paris is always a treat. This time, we decided to venture into Chantilly, which is pretty close.
Chantilly is an amazing labor of love and an ode to anything equestrian. If you love horses, you MUST visit Chantilly! The écuries are nothing short of fantastic, and they offer beautiful shows so that you can see the horses in all of their glory.
As I mentioned, the Château de Chantilly is a labor of love by the Duke of Aumale, Henri d’Orléans, who had the most amazing of libraries, as well as an impressive art collection, and who dedicated his life to preserve these treasures to bequeath them to France as a museum upon his death.
Lots of walking required comfortable sneakers, but no need to sacrifice polish! I wore simple staples, such as corduroy pants and a fair isle sweater, but added luxurious touches, such as a statement link necklace, that belonged to my mother, and a velvet blazer that my mom and I updated by adding a lace edge all around for a more feminine look.
By the way, don’t forget that you can always visit the archived gallery to my old blog! You can click here to view it!
