If you saw my Instagram reel (here), you already got a “peek” of this outfit, since this is what I wore to pick up the present that my brother got me for my birthday. That day, I also had to teach class, so I had to wear a professional, work appropriate outfit, and this was it!
I haven’t shown yet what he got me, but I will soon! I promise! For now, let’s focus on what I wore to go to the Ralph Lauren store on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach. As I mention in “Susana’s Keys to Style” at the top of the post, there is no reason to avoid wearing denim in a professional setting, as long as the pieces are classic and tailored.
For this outfit, I wore a denim Ralph Lauren Collection skirt and denim buckle flat shoes from Talbots. I topped it with a boxy, straight striped jacket, and a Brooks Brothers vintage silk scarf that Google Lens kept on telling me was Hermes. I gave up and I added the Hermes version among the shopping links below because I couldn’t find this exact one. I also wore a Ralph Lauren Collection laser-cut Drawstring Ricky handbag in white, and Saint Laurent Lily cat-eye sunglasses.
For jewelry, I wore my trusty gold link bracelets (found lots of options for you!), gold ring, and a vintage Trifari gold heart pendant. Believe it or not, it is NOT Roxanne Assoulin, although it is nearly identical to hers! This one is from the 1960s, and I love it! When Roxanne Assoulin’s heart pendant became so popular, I brought my vintage one out to play! My earrings are Dannijo (linked here), and I absolutely love them! I also found them in silver (linked here).
As I mentioned in my last post, I now feel the need to always wear something that belonged to my mom. It’s funny because we seldom “shared” things before (unless it didn’t fit her, for example), but now, I feel that when I wear her things, she’s with me. This time around, I wore her Gucci changeable bezel watch. It has all of the original bezels, plus many others I got her as presents throughout the years.
