A Key to the Armoire - A Personal Style Blog by Susana Fernandez

Welcome to my new site!

Today I’m incredibly happy for two reasons: The first one is because I have switched my blog to a new platform, and I’m finally sharing it with all of you! It’s a work in progress because it will take me a while to migrate the 771 posts! For now, you can still access the old blog at akeytothearmoire.tumblr.com. If a page does not seem to work, just add “tumblr” before the “.com”.

My second reason for being so happy is that I have the immense pleasure of unveiling the blog’s new look with a collaboration that makes me very proud; enter Bryla J Couture, and the chicest and most gorgeous coat!

Why proud? You may wonder

Because it is a privilege to have been chosen to showcase a product crafted with so much thoughtfulness and quality for women, and by women. The Bryla J story is as inspiring and beautiful as are its clothes. To start, just savor its guiding principle for a second: “to inspire empowered elegance for every woman.

This principle is not just something that sounds amazing, but the result of the personal knowledge and success that its founder, Ms. Sharon W. Reynolds, experienced as an entrepreneur in Nashville.  As an empowered professional, she knew that looking our best gives us confidence to conquer any goals, while it also shows the world the kind of woman we are. When you think that 52% of all management and professional-level jobs are held by women, creating a company that helps these women—you and I—to dress our best in order to become unstoppable is nothing short of remarkable!

But that is not all. Bryla J Couture also captures the responsibility that we, as women and change agents, have towards the world and one another. If this brand had captured my taste with its style, it is the story of its founding what captured my heart. Ms. Raynolds’ adorable granddaughter, Bryla Josephine, namesake of the brand, was born premature and with a medical condition. In her honor, her grandmother founded this company as a teachable legacy about social responsibility for future generations, and where a portion OF EVERY PURCHASE is donated to support healthy infants and mothers through March of Dimes and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Isn’t that inspiring? Bravo, Ms. Reynolds! Bryla Josephine, you should be immensely proud of your stylish grandma!

But now, let me just tell you about this coat! It is incredibly beautiful, elegant, and well made, and when I wore it, it turned lots of heads, and not because I was wearing a coat in Florida, but because everyone wanted to know where it was from!

One of the most attractive elements of Bryla J Couture is the fact that it offers a custom, made to measure experience. Although you can purchase this coat in standard, pret-a-porter sizing (here) Bryla J Couture was kind enough to make mine to measure, and the experience was so luxurious and special that I highly recommend it!

The made to measure experience ensures perfect fit, and gives you the edge that sets you apart. You may think that it is very expensive, but it is not, especially because you know that you won’t have to make any alterations to the garment once you get it. All you have to do is complete a very thorough measurement chart that Bryla J Couture will keep on file. That way, anything you order in the future will be made to your specific measurements. Bryla J Couture simply brings the luxury of long-gone personal dressmaking to the XXI century!

Are you intrigued yet? Go ahead and fall in love with the many beautiful options on its site (here), and be sure to follow them on Instagram (here). I have no doubt that any Bryla J Couture dress will make you the chicest and most elegant lady at all of your Holiday parties whether it is made to measure or not!
